DfMA & Prefabrication

Ibsecad have been delivering DfMA and Prefabrication solutions during MEP co-ordination for the past 20 years. Our experience in the many different sectors  means we are always striving to bring new innovations to each Project.

Our Leeds team recently visited the SES Prism Factory to see the first batch of our Battersea Phase 2 Boilerhouse Core Prefabricated Risers come off the production line.

What uncertainty?

Mark Robinson, Managing Director on 2019 so far...

On both sides of the Atlantic there has been considerable turmoil in the political landscape over the past few years, causing many people to brace for the worst. Given these are Ibsecad’s two main markets, we would be forgiven for keeping a cautious eye on events.

Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot

Ibsecad were proud to support Multiplex and Chickenshed on their recent charity Clay Pigeon shooting event.

12 Teams took part in a fantastic day;  raising just over £14,000!

Our team managed a respectable mid table position considering it was the first time shooting for a few of us.

Digital Construction Week 2018

Digital construction week 2018 features a two-day exhibition where software developers and industry leaders come together to demonstrate the new tools and processes being used in the industry today.

Ibsecad were this year joined by MACE, and presented a Case Study on the One Crown Place Project.

Our very own Richard Baglow talked through the process of our early appointment as Technical Model Managers to deliver a de-risked Design prior to the Trade Contractor appointments; as well as discuss the MEP Co-ordination through to handover.

You download and read through the case study HERE

There were a host of other Digitial Construction services & solutions on offer on the day and if you haven't been before its well worth the trip.

Waterloo’s Newest Residencies

Southbank Place Residential buildings 4A & 4B are continuing to take shape at a rapid pace on Canary Wharf Contractors major development near the London Eye.

Working once again with Emico (after our success at Royal Wharf), we've been able to keep ahead of a tight building schedule to enable works to progress on time.

Ibsecad have completed the initial batch of 36 different apartment type drawings for the lower floors on both towers ahead of schedule.

Integrating Prefabricated Solutions

As part of our recent MEP Co-ordination contract award at Barts Square Phase 3 for SES, Ibsecad would also be delivering the Prefabricated Utility Cupboards for the Apartment Fit Out.

Antony Henson and Mike Driver from our Leeds office headed over to York to run through SES Prism's latest Utility Cupboard solutions prior to our works commencing.

It was a highly informative walk around the Offsite Manufacturing Facility, gaining a better understanding of the prefabrication & delivery process on a number of ongoing projects as well as adopting the golden rules on Barts Square Phase 3.

Thanks for the SES Prism team for taking the time to show us round.

Co-ordinating with the RiserSafe System

During BIM & MEP co-ordination at One Crown Place (MACE) and AYKON tower (Multiplex) we were introduced to the Ambar Kelly RiserSafe system.

The product has been developed to eliminate the risk of falling from height through floor openings as their is no hole and no risk.

Nick Atkinson recently completed a CPD session with our Leeds team who have been integrating RiserSafe into the MEP Co-ordination at One Crown Place.

With an increase on early engagement MEP Co-ordination incorporating innovate systems like this can provide a quicker and safer construction environment

By providing permanent formwork with penetrations and framing to suit the MEP Co-ordinated routes there is a considerable saving on time and risk out on site.

The Ambar Kelly formwork & plates are pictured here at One Crown Place prior to Install.

3D Logistics Benefits

We managed to grab a great Logistics model comparison vs Site conditions down at One Crown Place recently.

Ibsecad & Mace worked closely during the PCSA period on the Logistics modelling and co-ordination to ensure zero issues would occur out on site during the Basement construction.

Props and incoming/outgoing service penetrations were carefully co-ordinating against programme sequence as well as checking co-ordination with the main Crane grillage (see the prop passing through the steel structure perfectly)

There have been no reported co-ordination issues on site and high praise against carrying out this activity in the model environment.
